Today marks a major update to Nyoom: Official iRacing OAuth authentication!

What Changed?

Previously, you could search stats without logging in because I used my own iRacing credentials behind the scenes. The ability to do that ends December 9th when iRacing retires their legacy authentication system. Because of this change, you'll now need to authenticate with iRacing to view stats on Nyoom.

While it's unfortunate that searching for stats without signing in is no longer possible, this unlocks some exciting new features not possible with the old system related to things like race participation tracking, licensed content, MPR, and more detailed license progression.

How It Works

Click "Continue with iRacing" on the home page to authenticate through iRacing's secure OAuth system (the same process used by sites like Trading Paints and Garage 61).

Once authenticated, iRacing provides Nyoom with a secure token to access your stats and perform searches. You can manage or revoke this access anytime in your iRacing Connected Apps settings.

Privacy & Security

What Nyoom can see: Your iRacing display name, customer ID, and stats. Basically the same data visible on your stats page in the iRacing UI.

What Nyoom doesn't see: Your email address, password, or payment information. Nyoom can't make purchases for you or access sensitive account data.

What Nyoom stores: Just like before this update, anonymous analytics, temporary caching of stats you've requested for improved performance, and site preferences stored in your browser (like your most recently viewed license). No user accounts or personal data are stored.
